Since 2019, the firm's founder, Joselynn Fember, has been a leader in the legal profession with proven success. Joselynn is far beyond her years in legal practice and has already demonstrated a track record of competence and a clear dedication to innovative input in the legal profession. Fember Law is yet another demonstration of Joselynn's  desire to see much-needed reform in the legal industry.

Joselynn has been serving family law clients in the Yukon since 2023 and has been in the practice of Family Law since she started her legal career in 2016, where she worked at a boutique law firm and handled family law files independently. During this time, she also handled property law and litigation matters. She also assists family law clients in Calgary, Alberta.

She is an experienced, multi award-winning, young and dynamic lawyer with a demonstrated history of leading and working in the law practice industry. She is strong and dedicated and her practice is centred on providing family law solutions for clients.

She was called to the Canadian Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor in 2023 and is an an active member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of Yukon and the Legal Practice Council of South Africa. Joselynn holds an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and completed her International Accreditation with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2022. 

Joselynn has previously practised as an Attorney in South Africa and founded Fember Attorneys Incorporated in 2019, where she was the Managing Partner until April 2023. Fember Attorneys was based in Sandton, Johannesburg and was a leader in the legal industry in Africa. It rose to great heights and won numerous international awards from an early stage during its establishment. One of Joselynn's most prominent practice areas while she headed Fember Law was Family Law and Divorce matters.

Before founding Fember Attorneys, Joselynn worked as a legal advisor for a Real Estate Investment Trust, Heriot REIT, where she carried out legal work in the local and international sphere, advising the REIT on complex contracts and transactions in South Africa, Zambia, the DRC, Mauritius and the United Kingdom.

Before being a legal advisor in the corporate field, Joselynn completed two years of articles at a medium-sized firm, Noa Kinstler Attorneys and Conveyancers in Johannesburg, South Africa, and was employed as an Associate Attorney for one year.

Fember Attorneys Incorporated won one local and two international awards, being shortlisted in the African Legal Awards (2020) in the Innovation category and winning the Family Law of the Year award at the Prestige UK CorporateLivewire Awards in 2021.

In 2021, Joselynn was bestowed with an Honorary Award and placed among South Africa’s Top 200 Young South Africans, by the Mail and Guardian. This award has recognised young pioneers for 20 years and seeks to showcase South Africa’s top achieving innovators and trailblazers.

In 2020 and only one year after founding Fember Attorneys Incorporated, Joselynn was awarded the Partner of the Year Award at the African Legal Awards, hosted by the UK Legal Week and the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa.

Joselynn has a strong commitment to innovation in the legal industry and will continue to play her part in moving the legal profession forward.
